Representation Systems

Ok, I’ve had more and more people asking about this “Representation System” thing?

There is no big mystery here.

It is about the different modalities we use to process, encode and project our communications. The representation systems (sometimes called “Representational Systems”) are Visual, Auditory Tonal and Kinesthetic.

I’ll create separate posts for each representation system so this doesn’t get so long, but suffice to say that out of the V-A-K-O-G, it’s these three that do the bulk of the work.

While we may take in information via Olfactory, Gustotory and Auditory Digital means, the four most used Reperesentation Systems are limited to Visual, Auditory Tonal, Kinesthetic and Auditory Digital.

Knowing about representational systems and the predicates that go along with those can be used to commmunicate much more effectively, which in the business world translates into the ability to increase sales and thus increase profits.
